MCLEOD ELEVATED DECK BUILD
MCLEOD ELEVATED DECK BUILD
This elevated deck project was designed and constructed to create a functional outdoor living space suited to summer entertaining. From the initial consultation, the focus was on delivering a layout that would comfortably accommodate barbecues, gatherings and everyday use, while integrating seamlessly with the existing home. Through clear communication and careful planning, we were able to translate the clients’ vision into a practical, well-finished result.
Structurally, the deck features a carefully engineered elevated subfloor system incorporating treated pine framing and engineered metal members to ensure strength, durability and long-term performance. The deck surface was finished with 90 mm Merbau decking, selected for its durability and natural appearance. A 4.2 mm cable balustrade was installed along the deck perimeter in accordance with NCC guidelines, providing safety without compromising views or openness.
To enhance privacy and visual appeal, spotted gum batten screens were installed, adding warmth and architectural interest to the space. The project was completed with a recycled Merbau staircase and fence, tying the entire build together while making considered use of quality reclaimed materials. The end result is a robust, compliant and visually refined outdoor area that the clients can enjoy for years to come.
ECHUCA BATHROOM RENNOVATION
This project involved a complete transformation of a dated 1990s bathroom into a sleek, modern space designed for functionality and light. The original room featured ageing tiles, bulky fixtures and a dangerous slope in the floor.
We stripped the space back to structure and rebuilt it with a refined, minimal palette — dark grey wall and floor tiles paired with a crisp white floating vanity and mirrored storage to amplify light and balance the tones. A frameless glass shower screen, tiled linear floor drain, and rainfall showerhead complete the clean, contemporary aesthetic.
The existing window was retained and integrated into the new design to maximise natural light without sacrificing privacy. Every detail, from waterproofing to finishing trims, was completed to industry standards with the help of trusted local suppliers, including Tradelink Echuca and C&D Tiles. This renovation is a great example of how thoughtful design and solid carpentry can completely modernise a space — functional, stylish, and built to last.
MENTONE GAZEBO
This project involved the full design and construction of a sleek, modern poolside gazebo that perfectly compliments the home’s outdoor space. Built with a mix of cement sheet cladding, DAR-treated pine, and Merbau battens, the structure ties seamlessly into the existing fencing and decking while creating a striking architectural feature beside the pool.
Inside, the ceiling and privacy wall are lined with timber battens, allowing filtered sunlight to create an inviting, resort-style atmosphere. The remaining interior surfaces were finished in James Hardie Villaboard, carefully jointed and sealed for long-term durability before painting.
The gazebo was completed with the installation of the homeowners’ custom outdoor cabinetry and electric BBQ, preparing the space for the final electrical fit-off and future entertaining.
MOAMA SAUNA ENCLOSURE
This project involved the design and construction of a custom outdoor shelter to house a premium Clearlight Infrared Sauna, seamlessly integrated into the client’s backyard layout. The structure was purpose-built to ensure full warranty protection for the sauna while enhancing the visual and functional appeal of the surrounding outdoor area.
Constructed using DAR treated pine framing and Colorbond Jasper corrugated iron cladding, the shelter ties neatly into the existing fencing and architectural finishes of the home. The base was built from a durable Ekodeck composite decking system, selected for its longevity, low maintenance, and superior breathability compared to traditional timber — an ideal foundation for a heat-producing unit like an infrared sauna.
The finished result is a compact, durable, and modern retreat that delivers comfort and practicality in equal measure. It’s a perfect example of how thoughtful design and material selection can elevate a small corner of the backyard into a year-round wellness space.
HADFIELD 'CATIO' VERANDAH
This project involved designing and constructing a fully weatherproof outdoor enclosure — or Catio — for the client’s cats, combining functionality with seamless integration to the home’s existing exterior.
The framework was built using treated pine, each piece pre-painted before installation to ensure longevity and a clean, consistent finish. All hardware was coated in Wattyl Solagard Woodland Grey, tying the new structure to the home’s fascia and guttering for a unified look.
The completed verandah offers durability, minimal maintenance, and an aesthetic that complements the property’s existing materials — all while giving the cats a safe and sun-filled outdoor area.
